The 3rd annual Red Deer Hair Massacure

Parkland Mall on February 18th, 2012 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

We are so excited to have Red Deer participating in Hair Massacure for the 3rd year in a row!

After witnessing the success of Edmonton's Hair Massacure head shaving event, Red Deer's Darcy Ouellet saw the great opportunity to bring the event home. 2010 was the event's first year in Red Deer raising more than $36,000, with 250 plus participants. 2011 saw tremendous growth from Red Deer and its surroundings.

The money raised supports the Stollery Children's Hospital's Pediatric Oncology to help kids with cancer, Make-A-Wish Foundation projects, and Ronald McDonald House. It's a trio of charities that continue to support kids.

 "I wanted to do something in my home city that would benefit our community.  There are many children in Red Deer who count on the support of the Stollery Children's Hospital, Make-A-Wish, and Ronald McDonald House," said Darcy.  "I'll be pinking my hair on January 10 to help draw attention to the event and encourage people to get involved." - Darcy Ouellet
